Toronto Web Services has been the official Internet sponsor of the Trans Canada Trail since 1997. In conjunction with Canada Trust, Air Canada, DaimlerChrysler, MacLean's and other national sponsors, TWS recognizes and salutes the outstanding work the foundation has done to create a coast-to-coast recreational facility. An official Millennium Canada project, the Trail has over 250,000 Canadians supporting its development. A combination of information and electronic commerce, the website offers merchandise and the ability to make online donations using real-time credit card approvals.

Toronto Web Services recently redesigned and produced the new version of the official Trans Canada Trail website, launched in May 2001.

Share the Warmth

Share the Warmth is Canada's first registered, not for profit e-charity. Share the Warmth purchases heat and energy on behalf of families, seniors, chronically ill and disabled persons living at or near the poverty level. As a cash-less charity, Share the Warmth does not give money directly to applicants but converts 100% of all public donations to heat for households and relief agencies in need directly through electronic bank transfer to the utility companies. Since 1995, Share the Warmth has provided energy assistance to 20,000 individuals.

Toronto Web Services specified, designed and built the customized Intranet from the ground-up using Cold Fusion to interface with an SQL database and Java servlets.
